Restaurants Enterprise
Cutts Restaurant started in 1967 as a country grocery in Level Plains, moved to the current Enterprise location in 1974, added catering for local organizations, and became an Enterprise icon. Current owner and chef, Ashton Cutts, prepares area favorites developed by his grandmother in the restaurant’s early days, and everything is still cooked from scratch. Pies are still handmade by a family member who has baked them every morning for 40 years. The country menu features 14 vegetables and four meats, Monday through Friday. Each day offers something different, but the mainstays are always available: barbecue, chicken fingers, and fried chicken. In a week, Cutts serves about 4, 000 meals. The restaurant receives significant traffic from families heading to Gulf Coast beaches, and the Cutts name attracts attention nationwide; they ship barbecue sauce and hats across the US. The Cutts chili dog landed them on the State Tourism Department's list of "100 Dishes to Eat" in Alabama.
